Heel spur is a spike of calcification on the heel bone.  Although many people have heel spurs with no pain, patients with pain will feel a deep localized pain in the middle of the sole of the heel.  For treatment of heel spurs the doctor might prescribe anti inflammatory medication, heat therapy and in severe cases orthopedic surgery.
